Lauren loves all things fall. So when she and Kyle got engaged just a few months ago during the summer she thought she would see what she could find in Door County in the fall. Amazingly, the gorgeous Horseshoe Bay Golf Club was still available for the last weekend in October! I remember worrying when we had the "cold snap" in August and leaves started to change that there would be nothing left for their wedding. And, unbelievably, unseasonably, the leaves held out for their special day! It was a tad chilly and breezy but Lauren and Kyle just used the cool weather as an extra reason to stay extra close!
Due to the short engagement and destination wedding factor, the first time I met Lauren and Kyle in person was on their wedding day! I immediately adored their sweet, easy going, and light-hearted personalities. Lauren was so very beautiful and elegant in her sweeping lace backless gown! And Kyle, classically handsome, but with a dash of mischief (like when he mentioned having a black eye as we did our final phone call, ha)!
I absolutely loved all of the rustic fall details juxtaposed with soft, romantic florals for the ceremony in the airy tent over-looking Lake Michigan. Guests were even treated to warm drinks to help stay extra toasty as Lauren and Kyle exchanged vows. And later, the cozy candle-lit dining room, so welcoming as friends and family came together from all over the Midwest to celebrate the new couple in this scenic little corner of Wisconsin.
It was a beautiful, meaningful and joyful day and I am so grateful I was able to document every moment for Lauren and Kyle. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Hass!

I love the how the natural light pouring into the dining room becomes sunset over Lake Michigan, then cozy warm light in the evening. Such a magical place!
It was Kyle's "G-pa's" birthday the following day. G-pa surprised Lauren and Kyle with a beautiful & bittersweet poem (not a dry eye in the place!) and they surprised him with a birthday cake!
That is the look of a guy having his best day ever!
